One day I'll lose a bunch of followers for being so annoying about Treasure Planet... But being such a nerd, geek and childish girl in real life isn't easy, so I need to be on the Internet!
You all know I love this movie. But I'd like more people to watch it. And I wish more people understood why I love it.
It's not only the story, or the characters. It's all together. Amazing characters, great scenary and designs, awesome animation and fantastic music. All together, makes this. And I really appreaciate the work and effort it took. I'm not saying that I do not appreciate other films like "The Little Mermaid" or "Beauty and the Beast", but in comparison, Treasure Planet is so underrated that I feel it deserves my attention.
It happens also with Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Brother Bear...
But since I watched this film the second time in my life (the first was when I was very young), last year, I've met a lot of wonderful people on the Internet who also appreciate it.
And I can't deny it, I love Jim! It's not normal someone to love a fictional character, and it's not like he's my crush or something, but man, they did a great job on making him look like a real person! His movements, the action and his expressions, you could say that solar board was real, and he did have feelings. And after that, the film ends and you say to yourself... "It's just a cartoon. He doesn't have feelings, because he doesn't exist". Yeah, well whatever. When I grow up I want to be an animator, because you can make something fantastic become real. And believe me, cartoon or not, those feelings did exist, at least, in the film creators' heads.
